Exotic Destinations? - First the Travel Doctor

Global Health Challenges Still Abound

Many people go on vacation to exciting and exotic destinations. Before setting out on an adventure however, it is wise to consider any preventative steps for travellers that should be taken ahead of time.

Although scientific and medical research over the last century, challenges to optimal health still abound in today’s world. In fact, it’s a rare week that goes by without a news story about a health crisis in some part of the globe.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has called for the establishment of a global network of scientific centres to identify and combat new or re-emerging diseases, including those caused by antibiotic-resistant strains of infectious agents that threaten the lives of countless millions of people.

After reading this information it would certainly make sense to visit the travel doctor before embarking on that great adventure in a foreign land.

Glycobiology is one of the last frontiers of science to be conquered and research has already proven our bodies need these glyconutrients being essential for optimal health and wellbeing.
